You graced this Earth, walked into my life, and left your paw prints on my heart.-Mommy

Garfield came into our lives and stayed with us just a few days short of three months. He was adopted from the Edmonton SPCA on May 30th. He was so fat, we had to sign a form just to confirm his obesity. He was so calm, and he loved car rides. He barely ever got stressed, but when he did, he would pee. It was pretty funny. He had a few scars on the back of his right ear, and a cleft lip. He squinted his eyes when he was happy- and he never really purred, he was too fat too feel the vibration anyway. Instead, he took deep, loud breaths. He looked at you with his pupils thin, and stared right into you. You just knew he was saying "I love you." Garfield would always put his paw on my mom (his grandma's) nose when she cuddled him. We bonded in that room at the SPCA for over and hour, he stared at me and breathed, and I pet him and told him "Your my dream cat. You're going to be the cat I have in Heaven one day." My mom made the choice easily. After you put your paw on my nose and I started crying, she knew we were going to leave the SPCA with two more cats. He loved tempations, and human food. Everytime I put down four temptations, he would meow a certain meow that said "thank you!" And he ate all four of them at once. I never knew thats all he was living off of. I thought he was eating his kitty food too. I took him out on a neon green leash, because i was scared he would run away. But he hated that leash, and he always found a way to get out of it. Turns out, he wasnt planning on running away. We began to trust him, and he would go out, and roll in the dirt on the un-finished deck. He laid in a lawn chair all day, every day. He was a happy cat. And his happiness rubbed off on each one of us. He instantly became "my cat." I am his mommy, he is my son. Alyssa is his Aunty, he is her nephew. My mom is his grandma, he is her grandson. My dad is his grandpa, he is his grandson. Thank you to everyone who gave him a cuddle, or commented on the pictures I posted of him. And to Garfield, I love you so much.
